Hello. I'm going to tunisia end of Feb. I'm struggling to choose between Iberostar Kuwait Palace and Iberostar Kantaoui Bay. Kuwait looks amazing but people say its too isolated? I don't want to do lots of big activities as I'm pregnant and it's a little babymoon but will still want to go out and explore the history markets etc. Itll be me my husband and 2 year old. I know what weathers like at this time etc but its nice and cheap and im getting out of the country! Wish i could wait when its warmer but dont want to travel too late in pregnant. Appreciate any help or those who've stayed :)

Honestly Tunisia was the worst holiday I’ve had I I wouldn’t go. It’s cheap for a reason. Food was awful, the country was dirty and poor and felt unsafe outside the hotel. Weather was crap (November) too. Would never go back.

Are you 100% stuck on Tunisia? We made the best of a trip to kantoui bay before it was attacked. It was OK, but not somewhere I’d return or recommend. Same can be said for Tunisia in general.

Went end of Feb & it was cold & rainy.

@Yayforyou where else would you recommend? We just don't want to pay too much for this holiday but want it to be normal if not warm

Have you been to Tunisia before? Don't want to be negative but it's the worst place I've ever visited. I definitely wouldn't risk going out of the hotel to explore while pregnant/with a small child. I found it really intimidating 😬

@Justnippinginthegaragelove I think it's down to personal preference, how cultural you are, how much you've travelled etc. I'm british pakistani so I can guarantee if you want to pakistan you'd say similar things. It can be dirty there, vendors harass you but being there is amazing. If you're not expecting that then it will put you off. For me I won't care.

You're right, I didn't do much research and was totally unprepared. I love exploring and visiting markets when travelling but really didn't enjoy the atmosphere in Tunisia. Also didn't help that I got sick!
Hopefully someone else will come along to give you advice on the hotels 🙂

I am pretty well travelled and Tunisia is the one place I would never ever go back to, awful place

AttilaTheMeerkat · 30/01/2025 14:01

I would reconsider Tunisia altogether. It remains unstable.

@AttilaTheMeerkat @Hoppinggreen @Justnippinginthegaragelove thankyou guys for your comments. We have the money to put in for a better holiday but ofcourse who doesnt want to save money. I guess cheap isn't always cheerful. Decided to go the canary islands instead hopefully. Thanks
