Family-friendly aparthotel by a nice beach in August...?

I'm holiday planning and this is my wish list:

  • Aparthotel, want option to make simple snacks and meals, or use hotel restaurant(s)
  • Accommodation for 2 adults and 2 children, ideally a 2-bed apartment
  • Within short walking distance of a sandy beach
  • Warm but not boiling hot in August (my ideal is 25-30 degrees)
  • Family friendly ie with kids pool, play area, kids club etc
  • Shortish flight from UK (London airports)

Please help me avoid spending hours and hours of my life searching!!

Majorca or Menorca would be a good place to start. Very family friendly, lots of hotels with all of the above. Any further south and it will be too hot.

Might not be exactly what you want but Eurocamp or similar would also fit the bill if you haven't considered them before.

Thank you. Definitely don't want Eurocamp/similar. We've done quite a few upscale campsite holidays (mobile home rather than tent) and really want a hotel and a break from the self-catering this time!

We have stayed here a couple of times. Very easy to get to from Faro airport, a small restaurant on site and several pools but no kids club. There are lovely two bedroom apartments. Carveiro is a short walk away along a beautiful cliff top path. Would recommend.

Spend a relaxing holiday at Algar Seco Parque in the Algarve; self-catering apartments, bungalows and villas, right above the cliffs with spectacular ocean views.

I stayed here a few years ago and although nothing particularly special it was fine, had a couple of restaurants, near a beach, kids club and entertainment plus cooking facilities in rooms. The buffet was quite nice for a hotel buffet I thought, as a vegetarian.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Some good options to look into.

Update for anyone who's interested. I've booked Candia Park Village in Crete, it looks wonderful.

I did spend hours researching. I found the Thomas Cook website the best, because it has lots of search filters and you can filter for aparthotels.

I did find other options, although we have limited flexibility on dates this year so that ruled some of them out.

There's Grupotel Playa Club in Menorca which looks great but there's not as much stuff for kids.

It will be boiling there. Looks nice though.

I didn't think it would be too bad, certainly not as hot as Majorca or Cyprus or Turkey.
