looking for Summer hols in Turkey 2025, family of four (DC 13 and 15). Not all inclusive - we like to get out. Beach resort but ideally with other stuff to do as we got bored lying there all day. Any tips? Many thanks

I haven't been to Turkey in the summer but from what I've heard from others who have its too hot to do much sightseeing etc at that time of year, so I think it probably depends on how good you all are at coping with that.

I would suggest looking at gulet holidays, I really want to take my kids on one at some point. Lots of jumping in the water and stop offs at beaches and harbours. Much smaller and more traditional than a cruise (but with the same benefit of seeing different places without changing hotels) and you can swim straight from the boat. Look for one with a/c!

I usually pick various all inclusive hotels in Turkey (I vary the region each time I go) and then go out and about every other day as the excursions are really good value. You could do this and even have a mini holiday within a holiday and fly to Cappadocia for a couple of days. Or how about a twin Center, Istanbul and Kalkan perhaps?
