Looking for somewhere with a brilliant water park, beautiful scenery but staying off the beaten track?

Trying to find somewhere that ticks all our different boxes for this summer. Kids really want a water park, DH and I don’t want to stay in a big resort. I’ve been looking at Cyprus but I’m really struggling to find any coastal accommodation that isn’t in a very built up area.

Has anyone been anywhere that would fit the bill? The dream would be a quiet villa in a beautiful small town but maybe half an hour drive from more built up places for the kids.

Budget?

Have a look at properties in Yeroskipou in Cyprus. Down the road from a good water park, has a beach, but is a lovely little village with nice square. Around a 15 min drive to Paphos city centre.

Don’t really mind, but imagine it’s going to be self catering/B&B if we want somewhere quiet. So actually budget for the accommodation would be lower if eating out, say around £5k.

I'm recommending Corfu, such a beautiful island. Been to various parts. Once we stayed 5 minutes drive inland from Sidari on the north coast in a little hotel in lush, green, almost tropical countryside. There was just a few hotels there, maybe 1 shop and nothing else. We drove into Sidari for nightlife and cover bands etc. There's a couple of water parks in Corfu, including one in Sidari, but it looks quite small. I absolutely loved it there. My partner found it a little too quiet but I liked the peace.

Thanks. I imagine Corfu is very beautiful. Funnily enough growing up we went to the quieter Ionian islands so Corfu always felt like it might be a bit too busy for me but it sounds like that would be easy enough to get away from.

@toastandtwo - Corfu is lovely. It's very busy near the airport, wouldn't ever stay there. The north-east has beautiful quiet pebbly small beaches, crystal clear sea. They're quite steep to drive to and you can hire a boat to get to them, which is great fun.
I also like the north which I mentioned to you, less 'exclusive' but I like that area just as much. It's a nice island to drive around. I suppose they all are.

Norway has the most amazing water park in the forest- my friend took me so not quite sure where it's near Kristiansand.

This sort of fits what you're looking for, if you get one of the mobile homes with a view they're quite nice and as private as you'll get for a campsite. The water park is great but is quite a hike down a hill (fine unless you have mobility issues, you can drive down too).

The Fasouri Limassol water park is lovely and I'm sure you can find somewhere off track to stay, there are lots of rentals on booking.com and airbnb.

Don't go to the Paphos waterpark - it is tiny!

Cyprus is my fave place to go. Coral Beach area sounds perfect for you
