Hi. We (2 adults, 14 and 15 year old), are looking for a multi centre holiday, 2 bedrooms, preferably fly from Manchester and for it to be the holiday of a lifetime to see the big 5, with a beach afterwards. We honeymooned in Tanzania and Zanzibar, but unfortunately that is outside of our reach now. Doesn't need to stupidly hot, just dry, probably South Africa...

We did Egypt last year, and we are trying to give the kids some memories due to a crappy medical diagnosis (which isn't a problem...yet). We are looking at going mid July. We don't want to be pitching a tent, but at the same time we don't need executive boutique hotels - just somewhere clean and comfy, oh and safe. Does anyone have any ideas?

It most likely won't be dry in Cape Town in July OP. It's winter then and Cape Town's rainy season. And the ocean will be freezing cold.

Other parts of SA have different climates so KwaZulu Natal might be a better option as there are safari and beach options in the area. And winters are very mild. You could still swim during winter.

Or Kruger for safari and then travel to one of the coast after?

We used Trailfinders for when we went to SA. They can adjust to your pocket. Highly recommend Shamwari game reserve (Born Free Foundation).

We did Cape Town (Table Mountain, Robben Island, Boulders Beach, Cape of Good Hope, Botanical Gardens).
Wine tours in Franschhoek (Boschendal & Babylonstoren).
Hermanus - whale watching
Shamwari.

Driving was fine.
