Croatia - where to stay with older teens

We have decided to look at Croatia for a weeks holiday this year. We have older teens who like a mix of exploring, nice area for wandering around in the evenings with a choice of restaurants and easy access for sightseeing.

We're looking for recommendations of where to stay having never been before. Also if anyone can recommend accommodation that would also be great. We're looking for either a villa or apartment with pool access if possible, thank you 🙂

We took ours to Split. Sea kayaking, donut floating down a river. We stayed here. It was lovely and had a cave pool.

We stayed at Waterman Beach Village on the outskirts of Supetar on Brac. It's a gorgeous town and surprisingly easy to get to from the mainland.

I've been to Dubrovnik twice, on Cruises, only day trips, so I can't offer any advice on accommodation.
It's my favourite destination and plan to return for a longer stay.
Just popped on to say it's well worth a visit, especially if you or your dc have watched Game of Thrones as some of it was filmed there.
I will warn you that it's expensive but it's so beautiful.

What have you decided? We have spent two weeks in Split, then another year we spent 10 days in Brac (Bol).
I'm really keen to go back this summer for a week, but not sure where. I love nice beaches, but not crazy busy.

Not decided yet! We are looking for accommodation, but being a bit picky as this will be our only holiday this year.

We need a minimum two bedrooms plus living area so ideally a villa or apartment. We also want a pool, and within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

We are happy yo travel to see sites etc but don't want to be isolated from the basics. I've been looking at Cavtat? But open to anywhere really.

Cavtat is lovely we had our honeymoon there 22 years ago. Would love to take my teenage daughters there too. Where are you booked to stay?

That looks a nice place. Who have you booked flights with?

Monr0e · 02/03/2025 22:03

We booked with Easyjet. The flight times aren't the best, 5pm going, 9pm coming back. But they were by far the cheapest.
