My son's eczema gets really bad in the sun and last year we went to Spain but even out of season the flare up was just not worth it. It seems to react in the sun. We thought it was the pool at first but it is the mix of suncream, sweating and sun that has been the problem.
We have decided to stay on the UK but I would like something where we could possibly sit by a pool while the kids play. I don't want to do centreparcs as I refuse to pay 2.5k for a holiday in the UK for a week. Any other suggestions would be most welcome. We are in Yorkshire so.maybe within a 4 hour drive.

If the issue is down to the sun, sun cream and sweating I don't understand why you want a UK holiday where it will be warm enough to sit by a pool? You'd still need sun cream. We spent May HT in Newquay in 2022 and 2023 and both times it was scorching, it was hotter than parts of Spain.

The trouble is if this type of holiday doesn't work, why are you trying to replicate it here? If the weather is hot enough to sit around a pool then he'll need suncream.

I think you are looking at it the wrong way round.

If it's a bit of peace and relaxation you want then what about somewhere like Creiff hydro that has kids clubs so you can have an hour or two down time?

Although this will depend on the age of your son and still quite pricey.

I think anywhere you are trying to replicate abroad will be disappointing. You need to try something different and accept it as different.
