Tenerife: Easter or May

I want to go to Tenerife for Siam Patk, beaches, pools ...

I've never been to the Canaries so struggling to understand the weather.

Is there a difference between April and May?

If i can find heated pools would April be better than an unheated pool in May?

Seeing as Siam Park is really important is there a difference in the crowds?

Or really do i need to go in August to get beach weather?

Thanks in advance!

Tenerife is warm nearly all year.
Coolest months seem to be December January and February. Between 17 and 22 degrees
We went in November and it was 35 on a couple of days.

We went in May half term last year & the unheated pools were still chilly, bearable for shorter bursts but after a while DC would be shivery & asking to get out!

I sounds like a heated pool is best for either month then. So any recommendations of hotels with heated pools welcome 🤗

Thanks for the advice

Definately May.
I've been to the Canaries many times at different times of year.
In winter it's warm and sunny but I wouldn't go in a pool.
April can be quite hot but I've been in April when there was a cold wind. I once took DC at Easter in April and it was a disaster as too cold for the pool which is all they wanted to do.
Pools described as "heated" are still not very warm unless it's an indoor pool or a small villa pool.
At Siam Parc you are in and out of water all day, it's on a hill so catches the wind. I'd go in May rather than April for those reasons.

@Boffle this is so helpful thank you. We've never been on a pool holiday so the last think i want to risk is a crushing disappointment for the kids!

As a seasoned visitor do you think May is ok or is August a safer bet?

@CoffeeMmmm I would choose August if it's a pool based holiday. It does get very hot in August but not actually as hot as say Greece or Spain because it's in the Atlantic.

There will always be people who say its fine and hot enough in April or May, and it would be for me as an adult because I only swim up and down for a few lengths then get out, I do in fact swim in the sea even in January but it's cold! My DC though, used to love pool / beach holidays but would literally spend all day in the pool, especially in hotels with activities like water polo. Once when we went in April they were blue after half an hour in the pool and it just wasn't what they wanted.

Siam Parc is fantastic but very, very crowded in school holidays. We went in August a few times and weather wise it's perfect but you need tactics for the crowds. DC were about 10/12 the first time we went and and 18/20 the last time. DS2 (26) went last year with his partner and still loved it.
