We are looking for a family holiday 2 adults and a 13 year old in August and are considering the Dominican. We need somewhere hot, all inclusive hotels ideally and good scuba diving. We want to avoid Mexico, Egypt and Cyprus as we have been and want to go somewhere new.
What's everyones opinion on the Dominican? I have heard mixed reviews. Any other ideas where we could go? Budget would be max about 9k
We are already planning Australia in a few years so that's also out.

We have been to Dominican a couple of times (including last summer). Like Mexico, we find AI in the Caribbean in a different league to those in Europe and Egypt.

We find it quite a chilled vibe in Dominican and prefer it from that aspect to Mexico. However I find it more limited in things to do outside the resort, yes there are some excursions but a bit uninspiring. Diving opportunities aren’t as good as places like Egypt. Having said that we had a lovely holiday and did some snorkelling off the beach at our hotel as that had a small reef and we’re lucky enough to see a stingray and small octopus.
