Hi,
Has anyone been anywhere in Spain or Portugal that has a warm pool in February?
Looking for a 2adult 2 children holiday last week in February where the pool is warm or an indoor pool

Have you thought about Madeira? The Porto Mare Hotel has a heated indoor pool.

Los Zocos Lanzarote and similar.

Quite a few in the Canary Islands are heated during the winter but not all. It usually says in the hotel listing, or you can check reviews on Trip Advisor (filter by the time of year then search a key word like "pool" or "warm").

I made a shortlist of the following for this Feb. Didn't book in the end (we booked European Center Parcs instead) so can't give a personal recommendation, but these ticked the boxes for heated pools with waterslides, kids club, AI/half board, fairly good reviews. Our DC are all under 6 so might not be suitable if your children are older and looking for bigger slides or more entertainment.

HD Parque Cristobal, GF Isabel, Iberostar Waves Graviotas Park, Hovimar La Pinta Beachfront, most H10 hotels (e.g. Atlantic Sunset, Tindaya, Lanzarote Princess, Lanzarote Gardens though pirate ship pool not heated, only the main pool is), Elba Lanzarote, Sentido Aequora Lanzarote Suites, MYND Yaiza.

What a helpful post @User2123 !!
Have you been in the winter? If they heat their pools in the winter but not the summer i wonder if winter might be better than spring for a pool holiday?

February is a great time to go for some winter sun. It varies by hotel, but most heated pools will be heated until April/Easter time and again from October/November.

Winter days are pleasantly warm in the low 20s and a welcome relief from bleak UK weather! We went to Lanzarote in February a few years ago and wore shorts and t-shirts in the day then just popped a cardigan on in the evenings. It can be windy at times but lovely in the sunshine.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I'll have a look

Landmar costa Los gigantes in Tenerife heat their main pool in winter (it's massive).
Tenerife has lovely weather all year round, you might get rain in February but it's usually overnight and in showers rather than whole days of rain

Try looking for hotels with heated pools or indoor pools in the Canary Islands — they’re usually warm enough in February.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 11/06/2025 11:17

Can you do a filter on your hotel/package search so that it only shows you hotels with an indoor pool?

madgreenlemons · 11/06/2025 11:28

Turiscampo - which has lodges/rental units in algarve region had a heated pool and appears to be open in feb

Pelifor · 11/06/2025 13:44

We always go to the Canaries in February. However in my experience even when they say a pool is heated it's not warm. It's fine for me to swim, I swim in the sea at that time but can be disappointing for children used to a warm pool in August.
Indoor pool is the best idea as a fallback.

samarrange · 11/06/2025 13:56

Be careful if you are relying on an indoor pool, depending on the age of your DC, as many of them will be in the spa area and have age restrictions.

Pootles34 · 11/06/2025 14:14

We went to Landmar in Los Gigantes linked above in April, it's a lovely hotel and we really enjoyed the pool, definitely warm enough! It's a nice area as well.
