Morzine and ????

Just booked to stay for 2 weeks in Morzine (French Alps) this summer. We'll be flying in and out of Geneva and was thinking of adding a few extra days on to the end. Does anyone have any good suggestions of where we could base ourselves, probably within about an hour of Geneva airport? Maybe somewhere with a different kind of feel to Mozine. We will have a car and probably will book an Airbnb.

Should have said, we're a family of 5, including 3 older teens who are happy to walk, swim, kayak, look at museums.

Annecy is lovely and is an hours drive from Geneva.

Was also going to suggest Annecy, I've never been but hear that it's lovely, we're going back to Morzine in a few weeks.

Agree with Annecy or possibly Lausanne

Could try Chamonix for the sheer scale of the mountains there? Not far from Morzine.

We did 10/11 days in Morzine and 2 nights in Annecy last year - worked well

Annecy of the surrounds around the lake, Menthon St Bernard and Sevrier are stunning and free buses into Annecy in the summer months. Chamonix is lovely and so is Megéve. Aix-le-Bain is a bit less touristy than Annecy with a beautiful lake. Loads of stunning hikes and sports in the whole area, you really can’t go wrong.

For those of you who have stayed in Morzine in the summer, do you think we'll need a car? Just seen we have access to buses through the multi pass.
