Baby friendly beach and shopping holiday in the USA?

Any recommendations? Probably in about september time and preferably east coast (shorter flying time) or texas region (where my brother lives).

Don't know whether this helps but my parents took a non-driving holiday to St Pete's Beach with Virgin. They had a great time and recommended it for me and DS. (We are saving up for next year). Apparently you can also go to Fort Lauderdale with them as well - I have been to FL and thought it would make a good baby-friendly beach holiday - great shopping malls as well.

Thanks matalot - that does indeed help, I was thinking about Florida (but not really disneyworld etc as LO is too young for it). I will check out your tip.
