Apartment / resort recommendations abroad

I need self catering only due to son’s medical needs. Kids are 10 and 15 and ideally want some water slides or something activities so not just a private villa. Has anyone got any recommendations of apartment hotels they have stayed at or an air b and b they have used? Don’t mind anywhere in Europe really.

Belle Dune in Northern France.

Mentioned a few times today that the big campsites in Italy like Portofelice, Union Lido, and Ca Savio have accommodation other than mobile homes, and more facilities than you can shake a stick at. Siblu La Carabasse is great for teens and they have spread out mobile homes, some with washing machines and covered decks. Gite complexes in France? We loved Le Banquet in the Dordogne.

Lanzarote has a lot of bungalow complexes that might suit. If you google lanzarote bungalows water slides you get some links to packages offered by Jet2, Easyjet etc so might be good as a starting point.

I'd look for somewhere with easy access to a proper Spanish supermarket like Mercadona, Dia or Eroski (there's also Spars and Dinos but more expensive and more limited selection) as well as restaurants - in Spain they seem to be very good with allergies on menus and food packaging too.

Self catering apartments are easy enough to find in the Alps (Austria, France or Italy) and there are loads of activities literally on the doorstep. Rope parks, pools with slides, lakes to swim in or for boating/paddleboard/sailing, hiking, zip wires, mountain bikes, cable cars ...

Look at the websites of the tourist offices in resorts such as Saalbach, Zell am See, Morzine, Kronplatz. The tour operators such as Nielsen, Crystal or Inghams also have "Lakes and Mountains" summer programmes - even if they don't offer self catering, the resort descriptions can give you some ideas of places to go.
