Want to take my 4 year old on holiday in March. I’ll either be on my own or with my mum too.

i have no idea where to go…. Would like warm enough to do outdoor swimming

How far are you willing to travel and what's your budget? Gran Canaria might be worth a look

Following on from another thread, for little ones (and bigger ones actually) I rate center parcs in France - fantastic outdoor and indoor pools, you get an actual little house rather than roughing it in a cabin, nice walks/biking bits and bobs for the little one to do, then she goes to bed and you/you and your mum sit with a glass of wine (reasonably priced, because France) on the patio.

I do it every year with my 2 kids, and it's lovely. We Swim every day, eat out a bit, go for sunny walks, I use the sauna/steam room or whatever the cabin has, we might pop out to see what's interesting in a local supermarket, or stop off on the way to/from the ferry to see something interesting - it's lovely.

We did a few days here when DC were about that age and there were several other single mum's in the hotel on site (we actually teamed up with them for one of the days!). https://www.portaventuraworld.com/en
