Father son camping ideas

When DS finishes his GCSEs, DH wants to take him away for a treat. They are both more active than me and DD, so we thought he’d enjoy a chance to go camping and do some outward bound-type activities, but struggling to find anything. We’re Midlands based so could travel easily to quite a few areas. Anyone able to suggest anything to try?

Do they specifically want activities, or would something like a long distance path work ?
