Can anyone recommend a company that they have booked a safari with? There’s so much out there I’m not sure what’s the best option

More detail needed.
What country ? Hotel or tent ? Adults only ? Package, or DIY ?

We have booked with both Steppes, Audley, and Wildlife Worldwide.

4 adults 2 children.
looking at Kenya or south Africa
Probably a hotel and maybe a package

I obtained quotes from a number of companies this year.

I have booked with Gane and Marshall they were the best and easiest to deal with by far in terms of price and flexibility, Travel Butlers were a very very close second.

Based on my experience I would avoid Kuoni - the consultant was very pushy and a bit much. Wayfairer were 3k more expensive than the others for the same thing. I found Trailfinders very inflexible too.

I also got quotes from yellow zebra, safari consultants, and a few others I can't remember the others. If you could say what kind of safari you're looking for that would be great for better recs.

We used TourCompass for Tanzania/Zanzibar last year.

We used Trailfinders for a tour of South Africa that ended with a stay at Shamwari game reserve.
Outstanding place - saw the big 5 repeatedly over three days and they were so close, it blew me away!
