Family holiday to Cork

Hi all, we are planning a family holiday to Cork, Republic of Ireland.

My kids are 5 and 3 and can
share a room happily.

My husband and I took a minimoon there when we got married, so I know the city, and surrounding area a little, but we didn't have kids the !

Does anyone have any family friendly recommendations? Places, activities, accommodation etc?

We are planning on getting the Ferry from Holyhead and taking our car, so pretty flexible on driving.

Any insights would be much appreciated. Thank you 😊

Definitely plan a trip to Fota Wildlife Park! It's great for a family day out. The city itself is quite nice, you can visit the English market etc.

It's a few years since I went myself (I live in Dublin) so no recommendations on family friendly accommodation but there's lots of options in Cork, you won't be stuck.

Cobh is a nice place to visit, we went to Spike island which we really enjoyed although our DC are older than yours. Young children would enjoy the boat trip over there and lots of grassy areas to run around on though.
