Athens in late June -too hot?

Planning a post GCSE trip for ancient history fan. Would be really nice to go straight after exams to Athens but I’m concerned it will be unbearable for sight seeing. Would it be better to wait until October half term? Would prefer to do it straight after exams if possible.

I think it depends what your tolerance is to be honest

Google says June/July averages are lows of 20 and highs of 33

For me that wouldn't be an issue but if you think it would be for you, don't go.

If you do go, make sure you have water with you, hats, SPF & lightweight cover ups

You can check the actual temperatures on weather apps. Last year end of June was 33-37 degrees every single day. You do not want to do sightseeing with that kinds of temperatures. Go in October.

I think it will be too hot in June sadly. Was hoping to go straight after exams, October is a long time to wait. Was also hoping to make the most of a term time trip. Our nearest airport stops flights just before October half term as well. I wonder if I can sell her a different location. She really wants Greek stuff so avoiding heat will be impossible. Maybe I can sell the Vikings and we can go Scandi 😁.

I actually have a trip to Athens booked for October myself, including guided history tours. DS is into both Greek and Nordic history and mythology, but unfortunately in Scandinavia, you really don't have the same level of historical monuments to see as Greece. Some museums, rune stones here and there, but there's no Acropolis equivalent.
