First Villa Holiday

We have always holidayed to AI hotels but the cost this year - also not hold by DD17 being an 'adult' now! - has made it prohibitively expensive.

We've booked a family friend's villa in Spain for two weeks but I don't know how to holiday in a villa! We'll have a car and there's a supermarket nearby as well as beach/small restaurants.

Any tips for evening entertainment, day time fun, food etc? We're not massive drinkers so that element of AI we won't miss so much.

I have to say that I AM excited about the prospect of a washing machine which will make packing for 2 weeks much easier!

Wake up late, have breakfast outside in your pyjamas, go out for a day trip and explore the local towns and villages, people-watch in a cafe for lunch and buy something from a deli/market for dinner, spend some time reading on the beach, return to the villa for a lazy dinner playing card games/board games. We normally head out late morning, either to a local town for a wander, or to a particular attraction. Then we'll have lunch out and return late afternoon for a relax and a swim. Evenings we eat something very simple, then relax with a drink and music or watch a film. Most places we stay now have smart TV/Netflix.

Other days we may just pop out to the supermarket and spend the day around the pool/ reading and go out in the evening .

Where in Spain are you going to ?

Also do your washing on the last day so you don't have to do it in the holiday comedown at home Smile
