Looking for a hotel or resort or campsite somewhere near Kologne or Hamburg or in between for a few days down time with kids

We're having a bit of an adventure by rail but think the kids will need some time not in a city so we can chill out and maybe have a pool and some downtime. Anyone been to any good resorts or hotels for families with nice pools?

Hotel Hof Sudermühlen- in Egestorf so around a 30 min drive to Hamburg. Lots of open space, nice pool, bike hire is avaliable.

There's Landhaus Averbeck which isn't too far from Hamburg, but not sure how you'd get there by rail.

Not being there personally for a holiday but you can get from Hamburg to Travemünde by train easily.

There are plenty of hotels aimed at families as it is a popuilar Baltic Sea holiday destination.

Fram Hamburg it is fairly easy to get to the Baltic coast resorts - e.g. Bad Segeberg, Lübeck, Rügen,Travemünde.

If you have a few days (and are doing Interrail) you could even look at going north to Denmark. Billund (Legoland, Lego House, WOW Park, Lalandia) is just over 4 hours from Hamburg - train to Vejle, then bus to Billund.
