Somewhere to go between Tewkesbury and Newton Abbot

We are travelling down from Colwyn Bay to Newton Abbot and stopping over in Tewkesbury. The only thing is we can't gain access to our chalet before 4pm and have to leave our overnight hotel no later than 11 so we need suggestions for something to fill the time in between (we have a 4 year old daughter)

What age of children?

Its about 2hrs between Tewkesbury and Newton Abbot so do you want to stop en route or would you be happy to find something in Devon to do?

If you get to Newton Abbott early Trago Mills is a biiiig discount shopping not great in itself but has train rides around a landscaped park perfect for a four year old penny arcade, boat rides and animals can't remmeber all the other stuff can keep you occupied for hours although be prepared for crowds (oap day trips etc) It is straight of the A38 at the Newton Abbott turning built alongside the A38

And no entry free as it is primrily a discount shop ( although on the enormous side)

Tragos was one of the places I was thinking of too! We've spent many an hour there.

Theres also a great park in Newton Abbot, Decoy Park -excellent play equipment, lake with a woodland walk around it.

If you want to stop en-route Burnham on Sea is just off the M5 -good beach for children.

(LuLu - D'oh, I've just realised that your DDs age was in your OP)

Bowood House? Longleat? Both wiltshire way, and slighty off course (but not far) and great fun for kids! HTH

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I think we'll make it down to Devon first and maybe go to Decoy Park that betty mentioned. Thanks again
