Hi all,

Wasn't sure where to post this, so if it's wrong, then please report.

DS starts primary school in September.

We're going on holiday in for two weeks in September and 1 week in November because I know under 5 we don't get the fine.

I can't move them or change them due to the costs involved with them.

Now it seems likely he'll be going to a special school, does this change anything, or do I just let them know that I would like a mainstream school?

I'm just a bit worried about it now..

I wouldn't stress about the time away from school at that age 😆 I don't know why the panic pearl clutchers have dropped into your thread.

Our child started reception at one school in London, we moved halfway up the country during term time, had to take some time out of school, settle into a new area and join a new school. He's now thriving 😂 doesn't even remember his nursery/reception friends from London. They only really care about their family at that age.

Just tell the school what your plans are as soon as you can, because that's the right thing to do. Don't feel guilty. Have a nice holiday.

When in September are you going as my child didn't start reception till about half way through September due to all the home visits they did first. So we went away!

Thank you everyone, it's only costs another 100 quid to move it to November, so hopefully, he won't be as unsettled.

I'm glad I asked.
