Hi good evening …

any ideas for honeymoon leaving from uk in august. We looked at mayia resort in Greece but we want a nice resort whilst history/ day visits outside of resort and under 30 degrees ideally

we looked at the French alps so could do some walking/ water sports at Annecy but want a special honeymoon feeling

budget under £4k per person

10/14 nights

adult only resorts

we normally holiday in Scotland so a bit out of our depth browsing.

thanks so much

Key West Florida. You need to drive for miles over the ocean to get to it, time your journey for the afternoon and while you drive you will cross turquoise tropical water, then enjoy a fantastic sunset followed by large moon over silver water, very romantic. When you get to Key West you will see many semi tame birds in the town including chickens!
The Lake Palace Hotel Udaipur India (part of the James Bond film "Octopussy" was filmed here). A super premium hotel set in a lake that can only be reached by boat. This is an expensive hotel, but worth it IMO. If you rent a car with driver you could also do a small tour and visit the Taj Mahal.

If you love Scotland have you considered Canada? My friend has traveled the world over 90+ countries Canada was surprisingly his favourite. Said it was like Scotland lol.

We took my MIL & FIL with us on ours.
Not joking.
They were more fun than my husband.
We went to Lake Tahoe. Beautiful place.
My husband insisted on seeing Wayne Newton.
If you were around in the 50s & 60s you’d know him.
He’d had an enormous amount of plastic surgery and he dyed his hair black.
Wayne Newton, not my husband. Maybe he has too by now. I left him years ago.
My husband got adjoining rooms with his folks.
On our honeymoon.
Sheezus.

You have a really reasonable budget. We went to Canada for ours (live in Scotland) and it is worth looking at, it is like Scotland but 1000x better. For a similar amount of money (not including spending money tbf) we had an amazing two weeks travelling BC and Alberta.

If you want heat, a resort, history (and ?all inclusive), maybe Mexico? Or you could look at other parts of Central or South America. Or Thailand?

If you'd prefer something closer to home Italy and Croatia are nice, although you're less likely to get your 5* resorts there. For a good resort in Europe Greece is a good shout, although I wouldn't personally choose to go in August due to the heat.

Why not pop into a travel agent? We booked through Trailfinders and I find them absolutely excellent, and very good value. Somewhere like Kuoni (£££) or Barrhead Travel might be better if you want a resort though. It really boils down to whether you want to go somewhere that's a 'once in a lifetime' experience area, or a beach holiday that's much nicer than you'd normally pay for.
