I’m looking for some help please…. We have 2 kids (6 and 4) and we’ve been to Menorca over the last few years but am wondering if anyone can help me narrow my search down a little for something in 2025
am looking for a nice 4 5 Hotel with a splash pool or similar for the little ones and a transfer under an hour… would also consider Tenerife..
does anyone have any recommendations please?

TUI Sensatori Biomar in Sa Coma

Actually the transfer may be over an hour. It's worth a look though. Sa Coma beach is great

We stayed in Iberostar Cristina, Majorca last year. Suited our needs with a toddler (DS was 2.5) as it was a short transfer from the airport (30 mins), a short walk from shops, restaurants and the beach. We went for half board which suited us well as we'd have breakfast, then eat elsewhere during the day for lunch, and back at the hotel for dinner - lots of choice at the buffet to suit fussy kids. There is a really shallow splash area for young children, as well as a large outdoor pool. There is also an indoor pool which we preferred, as it was warm (we went in September/October so didn't want cool water!). There is children's entertainment every day at the hotel. There is also a big aquarium within walking distance which our toddler loved and wouldn't stop talking about once we were home.

@PantherchameleonsocksforChristmas - thanks, is this hotel in Playa de Palma?

If going to Majorca, go on the small gauge train which goes up the hill through olives groves. We stayed near Palma, but our hotel was on a steep hill, a million steps down to the town and didn't have a splash pool- so wouldn't recommend. The little train goes Palma to Port Soller and back again. We went 1 way, then got a local bus back to Palma. We really wished we'd stayed in Port Soller. A little beach, port, market, restaurants and so much nicer than where we were in Palma. The initial transfer would be longer than Palma though.
Edit- I just checked, and the transfer from the airport to Port Soller is only 40mins!

@MiniPumpkin - that hotel looks lovely but just slightly out of our budget for July/August 😫

We have previously stayed in Zafiro hotels in Majorca but the price increase the last couple of years has been ridiculous. Last July we stayed at Cala Dor Playa in a superior room and it was brilliant for kids of that age. We ate out in the evenings as there is an amazing selection of great restaurants. They had a great splash pool, animation team kept the kids busy during the day. Really local to everything. Rooms were spotless. Quiet at night. Would return if our kids were younger.

That's the one, yes!

Blau Punta Reina in Porto Criso (well, just outside actually, on a peninsula between Cala romantica and Cala mendia)
Absolutely gorgeous location, and so much for the kids, with a coupe of great splash pools, slides, and the evening entertainment is superb.

Eminybob · 05/01/2025 12:25

Porto Cristo that should say

The Royal Son Bou, Menorca - I haven't stayed there myself, but friends have, and loved it, and it gets really good reviews. I know Menorca well, and the beach at Son Bou is lovely, and great for kids.

Aw I know the feeling we went when my youngest was 1 so wasn’t too bad. Now my kids are 3 & 6 and it’s a lot during school how’s. It really felt luxurious though and worth what we paid at the time. Let us know what hotel you decide.

User2123 · 05/01/2025 14:07

Have a look at the other Zafiros. Zafiro Mallorca or Zafiro C'an Picafort are cheaper and have the same pirate ship slides and kids clubs. A coach transfer is over an hour but a private taxi will get you there in about 45 minutes.

Or Viva Blue and Spa? Not stayed personally but we're looking at booking for this year, looks very similar.

TheFairyCaravan · 05/01/2025 14:28

Zafiro Menorca is beautiful too, but to get the transfer down you’d probably need to hire a car which, tbh, I’d do anyway.

DinoDandy · 05/01/2025 16:45

Iberostar Selection Albufera Park is lovely. Lots of pools so never feels too crowded and it’s in a lovely spot next to a nature reserve and on the beach. The staff are so lovely and great with the kids- lots of entertainment throughout the day and evening and the food is good quality with lots of variety.

MrsFinkelstein · 05/01/2025 16:49

Any of the Hoposa hotels in Port de Pollenca.

Modernfamily2011 · 05/01/2025 16:56

@budgiegirl - we stayed at the Royal Son Bou a couple of years ago, excellent location but food wasn’t great to be honest 😫

Have any of you been to Tenerife? I’m also looking at Tenerife as a potential but whilst the hotels i’m looking at look nice, the reviews aren’t great….

We went to baobab suites in Tenerife when dc1 was only 6 months. Amazing as own pool! But not ideal for kids tbh as would need to venture out for food
what about the fantasia hotel? I haven’t been though
