New Year 2025

After a rubbish Christmas, marred by illness and the most boring nye ever ( I went to be at 11pm)! We’ve decided to spend next NYE somewhere hot and sunny.

My initial choice was Bali, but I’m seeing it might be quite rainy?

Any recommendations.
Budget 5-6k
7 nights in resort but maybe 9 with travel
2 adults early 50s
We like: culture, good food, luxury/spa. Nice beaches. Chance to get out and about and see nature and real life.

We don’t like:
Party style resorts
Mass tourism where you’re just constantly being sold to
Shit all inclusive but we would do an upmarket all inclusive.

Doesn’t have to be as far away as Bali but does need to be HOT!

Thank you 🤩

Thailand! Try one of the islands like Koh Yao Noi or a place like Krabi...not as crowded as Phuket!

Anywhere in east Asia is going to be potentially cloudy and rainy several days of your holiday ( if not all)…..but will still be warm….Australia if you want full sun….or parts of south america

Mauritius I think is a good option in December and someone else mentioned Muscat, Oman is meant to be lovely, but I've not been. I think I'd pick one of those, based on single direct flight given you only have a week. If you want SE Asia you could look at Vietnam, Phu Quoc is the beachy destination, but you'd have to change planes in Ho Chi Minh. I have spent about 4 weeks in Vietnam previously and love it, but not actually been to Phu Quoc. There is also Langkawi in Malaysia, but again you need to change planes in either Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.

Carribean but I wouldn't fly that far for 7 days personally.

Mauritius. I’ve been at Christmas before and it was a solid 28-30 degrees every day. The sun burns. Mild nights with 25 degrees and I had 2 rainy mornings in the span of 2 weeks.

Loads to see and do, but harder / pricier if you’re staying on a resort - which may I add, are beautiful. Research day trips well unless you’re staying off site.

Edit to add - it’s a 12 hour flight from London / Europe but only 4 hours time difference so jet lag is much less than the likes of Bali or Thailand. Would do 7/9 days especially if you’d planned a more relaxed stay. Most flights are overnight so you make the most out of the number of days.

If you’re not staying on a resort where would you suggest please?
