My son will be turning one on 14th of feb and we want to take him to sea life rather than doing a party . What is the best one to go to Brighton ,Birmingham, London
If you have been to any of these what's your experience .

We took our son to The Deep in Hull on his first birthday and had a wonderful day. In terms of Sea Life Centres I've only been to the London one but imagine any would be fine so I'd choose the one that involves the shortest or most straightforward journey.

At 1yr old do you really think he'll get anything out of it?

Porcuporpoise · 04/01/2025 14:04

He'll totally get something from it @pinkyredrose small kids love brightly coloured fish

Another vote for The Deep. It's just big enough for a 1 year old and you can return for free within the year.

There are also lots of free museums in the museum quarter a short walk away. The street life museum is worth a visit.

I can't get there only the ones I suggested unfortunately

I haven't been to Birmingham but definitely avoid Brighton. It's the closest to me & it's tiny. Probably enough for a 1year old but it is not worth the price. We have been to the London one a couple times and my daughter loves it.

Acc0untant · 04/01/2025 14:13

Birmingham was small and busy if memory serves me right.

London Aquarium

Very easy to get to ( Waterloo or Westminster )

There's the HoP and Big Ben
The London Eye

River boat cruises
You can get combined tickets .

Plenty of toilets ( vital for little ones )

The London Aquarium main tank is 3 stories high and full of " Sharps" ( as my DS called them when he was little ) Grin

Thank you I will look into it as think it's easier if we just got to London from where we live

School Holidays are usually the week that includes Valentines Day but looking online it;s the week after so hopefully it'll be quieter for you .

There was a pool of rays ( clear glass sides ) they come up to the surface . I cannot remember if you can touch them .
And the clear tunnel under the SharkTank

I would suggest waiting a week. London in February half-term is often busy, especially if the weather is not good.

If you go, please avoid communter hours, pram and trains at that time don't go together.

I'm not waiting a week 😂 it's my sons birthday . If it's busy it can't be helped we will make the most out of our day no matter what time we go
