For me and my 4/5 year old, in the summer (or maybe Easter?) holidays.

It'll be just me and her, and I don't drive. We've enjoyed Butlins/Haven etc in the UK but I'd like to venture further afield and do something that I would actually enjoy for myself. I used to travel quite a lot but haven't been abroad for years, and never with a young child, so I'm a bit nervous.

I'd be open to a city break, or a resort/euro camp type thing (although I've never been on a resort type holiday so that actually scares me more than a city break!).

I'd like to keep the budget under £1000 for both of us including flights.

Any ideas?

Are you definitely flying? If you are within striking distance of St Pancras then Paris, Lille or Amsterdam by train would be easy.

If flying, Spain and Italy are lovely with young children.

We're in London so Eurostar is a definite possibility!

Amsterdam might be fun actually.

Thanks!

I was also going to sat menorca
Short flight small island so short transfers
I'm not sure a child that young would enjoy or make enjoyable a city break tbh

Another one recommending Menorca, very child friendly beautiful beaches if you go to resorts near Mahon (the capital) very easy to get a bus into good for a day trip.

Center Parcs in Holland? They're significantly cheaper than here (or were) and have great activities.

If you enjoyed Butlins/haven, then take a look at eurocamp, yelloh and similar holiday parks in France or Netherlands. Could be easy to get to via train or plane. Also look at Europe centre parcs (much cheaper than uk) or Landal greenparks (similar to centre parcs but more budget). Lots of options. My kids loved these type holidays at that age.
