Inspiration - big holiday Seychelles v Asia

We now have adult kids and DH has a big bonus, had terrible year last year so want have a nice holiday for just the two of us. I have always had a childhood fantasy of Seychelles but I’m not so sure now, we have been to Maldives many years ago, loved it but don’t went to go back there. Must haves, not to built up, lovely beaches, bit of culture, budget of around £6000, been to Singapore and Hong Kong many years ago as layover on flights to oz, but apart from that never been to Asia, Far East or Middle East. Just thought I would put it out there and see what suggestions you have

I really liked Sri Lanka. Much more interesting than places such as the Maldives or the Seychelles.

What time of year do you want to go, or is this flexible? Most of Asia works best during our winter, Seychelles in our summer but is year round really.
