Best time of year to visit Vienna

What is the nicest time of year to visit Vienna?

Honestly I don't think there's a bad time of year! I have a real soft spot for Easter as that was the first time I visited - the Easter markets are lovely and it's less full on than Christmas.

Agreed - any time.
Museums, galleries and cafes are year-round essentials.

If you are a Christmassy person, then you have all the markets etc. But, if you're not, actual Christmas only lasts for 24 hours and then you can spend the afternoon of 25th in an art gallery - fab.
New Year for the famous Strauss concerts.

But spring and summer are lovely too, especially if you want to get out to Schonbrunn and explore the gardens.

Great indoor tennis event in October.

There isn't a bad time!
