Hi
looking for some advice/recommendations for holidays to Italy with kids.
ideally a family friendly hotel with breakfast included and walking distance to plenty restaurants/cafes/things to do with kids.

kids would be 8,6,1

Its tricky finding hotel rooms for all of us too, so any advice is very much welcomed

We went to Lake Garda last year- plus stops in Verona and Milan. It was fabulous 😁, loads to do for the kids. We stayed in Pescaria (just for convenience as we didn’t have a car), but we’ve previously stayed in other towns. All of which has plenty of restaurants and tons for kids to do. Gardaland was a massive hit.

We stayed in Verona last year then travelled by train to Venice and Lake Garda. We stayed in a lovely Airbnb (2 adults, 3 kids) we had a great time. Heading back in May but Bologna/Florence/Modena this time

Kids your age I would look at Eurocamp or hotel/other accommodation at one of the big sites - see above - at Union Lido you can do B&B or go for cheaper options of mobile homes. So much to do on site and easy enough to do a day trip to Venice or Lido di Jesolo. Portofelice I think also has non-mobile options. As pp mentioned - Lake Garda has pedaloes, Gardaland, a great safari type park. Preferred Desenzano/Sirmione/Bardolino to Peschiera. Stresa on Lake Maggiore has Alpy Land, boat trips to various islands, a great animal park and a nice botanical gardens to run around.

We stayed at Residence Filanda when we went to Lake Garda. It's perfectly set up for families, has everything you need within walking distance, but doesn't have a restaurant so no breakfast.

Another recommendation for Lake Garda, probably my favourite place ever. We stayed at Bella Italia, took a day trip by train to Venice, the ferry to another town on the lake and the bus to Gardaland. Big hit with kids age 7&4 at the time.

Another vote for Lake Garda. We stayed in Riva so didn't make it to Gardaland but DS still had an amazing time. He loved taking the pedalos out onto the lake and jumping in over and over again. The cable car up Monte Baldo was also a massive hit with him. We stayed in Du Lac et Du Parc which had great family rooms, indoor and outdoor pool, playground and a kids club.

Another recommendation for lake Garda and Eurocamp! There is a lake Garda Facebook group as well, I’m sure you could get hotel recommendations on there. But for kids the age of yours a Eurocamp would be perfect.
