Ideas for France in April with 4yo and 6yo - needs to have activities for kids

Hi everyone,

I have 2 dc (6yo and 4yo) and would like to take them on the first holiday abroad at Easter.

We are based in Surrey and would really like to go to France.

We have had really successful active UK holidays to date - mostly holiday parks or centre parcs - ie self catering lodges with lots and lots of activities for children. I would like a simular set up in France.

I have a car, so I could do a ferry or channel tunnel, but I am somewhat dreading driving abroad.

Any recommendations which would meet the following requirements?

  • in France
  • self-catering accommodation with 2 bed places available
  • either within easy (maybe up to 2h drive) or ferry or channel tunnel or near airport where can go car-free
  • if near an airport then good enough public transport that don't need to rent a car ie town, supermarket etc easily accessible
  • lots of daily activities for 4yo and 6yo (climbing, trampolining, swimming pools, adventure playground areas, etc)
  • won't be absolutely freezing in mid-April
This is a special holiday, so budget of upto £10k for a week

We haven't done Eurocamp but interested.
I have looked through their car-free page but worried that activities etc won't be open in Aprl?

Sorry for long message. Thanks for any suggestions.

Have a look at Domaine des Ormes. It's really close to St Malo and has a large indoor tropical swimming complex.

Domaine des Ormes or one of the French center parcs? I’m not sure the weather will be any better than Surrey though!

Would you be willing to fly? 10k in April would cover a lot of options.
