Can any of you recommend anywhere to stay where it's not a nightmare to get a sunbed?
We haven't booked a summer holiday for next year as we can't be doing with the sunbed hassle.

Blue Lagoon Village, large resort very spread out, if not fussed about being "front row" you should be able to get a lounger any time at one of the pools or beach. Although we opted for a swim up suite last time which was great.

Sorry that's in Kos

I recommend anywhere with a swim up room so you have you own terrace and sun beds. Otherwise most 5 star hotels don’t have a sun bed issue and every hotel we’ve been to in Miami and Orlando has been fine (4 and 5 star)

St Georges Hotel and Spa in Paphos has allocated sunbeds and is a fantastic hotel. You choose where you want to be from those available and can be put on a waiting list for the more popular ones by the pool if you want.

Adult only hotel though, Don't know if that works?

Thanks all! I have been trying to find swim up rooms but they are not that easy to search.
We prefer being in the shade so definitely don't want a premium sunbed spot.

Creta Maris. Been twice, never had a problem. Multiple pools and plenty of sunbeds and outdoor seating space.

TUI Blue lagoon Princess in Halkidiki

@BrickKoala my experience with Tui is that you have to look at the room options after selecting the hotel, the search will default to a standard room (or 2+ depending on the number of people) then when you go through to look at the hotel see what the room options are. So might be worth doing some googling or asking on MN what hotels people have used that come with swim up rooms. It would be great if you could just narrow down the search that way.

We stayed in GF Victoria in Tenerife. They have an amazing wee guy who goes around and removes belongings from unoccupied sun beds. It seems to be his main job so he's aware of who's in the pool and what's just people trying to keep sunbeds. Never overzealous but doesn't tolerate piss taking.

As a result, no matter what time of day, you can always find enough sun beds in sun or shade depending on your preference across the various pools

Great hotel all round but this was one of my fav things as I find the whole sunbed nonsense really stressful.

Tui Blue Suite Princess on Gran Canaria. Unattended towels on sun beds before 10.00am are removed and you have to pay 2 euros to get each one back. there are loads of sun beds anyway, Its an adults only, all inclusive.

usernother · 26/12/2024 21:43

When I went to Ikos Oceania in Greece there were enough sun beds for everyone staying there.

Your right it does make it stressful

I search through the reviews trying to see what's it's generally like for sunbeds. Luckily I hardly ever go on holiday

Several in Cyprus - Sunrise Hotels, Grecian, Kanika from memory all have an allocation system.

BrickKoala · 26/12/2024 22:42

Thank you all I will have a look at all suggestions tomorrow. We find it so stressful we were put off booking for next summer. Really need to do some research.
