EasyJet Booking System got HARDER and MORE expensive

Terrible experience - We have been booking with EasyJet for YEARS and their system has become MUCH harder and MORE expensive to use.

  1. Using the mobile app there was no facility to select the second passenger on the booking - we had to use their laptop/computer management!
  2. I booked for 2 passengers and you now have to pay EXTRA to sit together - DISGUSTINGLY anti-social system!
  3. It keeps referring you to pay for extra baggage at every stage - even if you have already booked baggage - beware you could inadvertently book extra baggage.
  4. You now have to pay even for a small overhead bag, which can more than double the cost of a flight!

I managed to book the second passenger on the mobile app.

It offers different baggage options and it’s been the policy for some time now that there’s a charge for overhead cabin bags. Also different options and prices for where you want to sit.

It’s menu pricing where you select what you want after the base price.

2, 3 and 4 are hardly new things with easyJet or any budget airline so I'm not exactly sure why you're so outraged.

I don't use the app. It seems to favour you all having the same option e.g. no bags or a bag each. We tend to book 1 or 2 big bags for our family.

You have had to pay to select seats for ages, same with most budget airlines. I always check in as soon as check-in opens and have always had seats together. They don't deliberately separate you as some airlines are rumoured to.

Paying for cabin bags is a pain, but stops the problems at boarding where they make some people put them in the hold as it's too busy. You can take a small backpack for free. I just factor bag costs into the cost of the flight.
