can i use a portable dvd player on the plane?

You'll be fine, just beware about fully charging it before you board!!! You don't want the batteries to die half way through the flight!!!!!

Sorry should have said, you just can't use it during take off and landing, and sometimes (depending on Cabin Crew) they won't let you use it if there is going to be turbulance and the Captain has had to put on the seat belt sign...

Yes, but the battery can run down pretty wuickly.

i dont know what i was thinking this morning about buying one. we already have one for in the car, just needs the seat clip taking off the back.
i thought the battry wouldnt last that long, but hopefully i will only need it when she gets really restless and fed up with the things i have already packed for her.
just got to find the plug in charger for it now.
