Idk how to feel about holiday cards, i have a kid my own and never done these before, because why even bother and it costs money. Most holiday cards (my opinion) are mostly about parents bragging about their baby or child and put them in nicest clothes and santa hats. I have never ever gotten one before when my friends didnt have kids, so why now i think. Also not to mention that its only texts are «merry chritsmas and a happy new year»
or brag about things they baby or kid did this year, like i don’t see enough of that on snapchat already, So for me these seems pretty impersonal.

Impersonal is a strange word to use - surely a card with someone’s child on is way more personal than a card with generic Father Christmas or an angel? And “happy Christmas “ is a pretty standard greeting in a card. And of course parents are going to use nice pics of heir children not crappy ones. don’t really understand what you mean by impersonal.

If you are asking what’s the point of Christmas cards in general, well many people don’t send them any more. I do, because I like choosing cards, I like receiving them, I like displaying them, I like wishing my friends a merry Christmas and thus letting them know I am thinking about them to the extent that I have chosen, bought, written and posted a card. It’s a way of sharing Christmas with people I’m not necessarily going to see over the period.

I like receiving any kind of card. I’m surprised mumsnet is launching an attack on sending Xmas cards although I shouldn’t be surprised after all the threads encouraging people to spend Xmas away from families. I guess zero human interaction is the aim right now

Every year people complain about receiving Christmas cards on here. I don't get it?

I'm thrilled to be thought of and enjoy seeing my friends and their kids.

I really like these. It's quite nornal where I come from and I enjoy seeing friends and family's little one's Christmas photo. I think it's personal and a nice keepsake to look back on. Saying that though, I have never done it myself.

This is a forum section about holidays as in vacations and travel. Not moaning about friends sending Christmas wishes…

Do you mean Christmas cards?
