January sun, family for £5k? With kids club?

I'm looking to take our family of 4 (kids are 4 & 8) on a 1 week winter sun holiday in January, with a £5k budget.

Looking at antigua, barbados, dubai... any suggestions? (Don't really want a flight over 9 hours.)

Would really appreciate any tips on high-quality family hotels/resorts, we've never done anything like this before! Breakfast or half board ideally.

Thank you!

Radisson Blu Resort in Mogan (Gran Canaria). They have all the things you are listing and average around 22 degrees in Jan. It's also not too long a flight (4 hours ish).
We did breakfast only but you can do half board. You're within walking distance to the town centre (2 mins to a supermarket, 5 mins to restaurants and shops), and to the beach.

Thank you, i will look it up!

My only slight concern is will it be warm enough for swimming and drying off in the sun?

(We went to spain in march one year, and some days were freezing, hence contemplating if we should brave a long-haul flight this time :)

You're fairly near Africa in Gran Canaria rather than mainland Spain, so you should be fine drying off :) we did it in January this year and had great weather for swimming and sun bathing!

Caribbean might be tricky for that budget- what do you want the £5k to include?

Dubai is around 25c in Jan and friends who live there say it’s too cold to swim…

We went to Morocco January 2024 and had temps of 25-28 everyday.

We went adult only, but paid £600 for 4 nights all inclusive

Would you consider a Caribbean cruise? My DB is going on one in January, surprisingly cheap!
