Kennedy Space Centre Extras

Anyone tried any add on experience/enhancement activities at KSC? Was it worth the cost and time? My kids are 15 and 12 and generally interested in space.

I visited a few years back with no kids and I felt there was plenty for a whole days visit just with the general admission. I guesstimate I was there from 10-4pm and my day was filled.

A friend did add on the training/simulator experience when she went and said it was really good. But I felt there was enough of the included exhibits etc to keep me occupied for the day without any add ons.

Try and time your visit with a rocket launch. I saw a SpaceX one & heard a sonic boom. So cool!

Thanks @Vanillalime ! Did you have to buy special viewing tickets for the launch? And how close can people go to see it? That sounds super cool my kids would love it!

My son and husband paid extra to meet an astronaut and listen to his experience. My son absolutely loved this (so did DH) and both still talk about it now. My son would have been 15 at the time.

We went in the summer and easily filled a whole day - there was quite a bit of stuff we didn’t see - even without any extras. The DC did the space shuttle simulator and we also went to an astronaut talk - both of these were just parts of a standard ticket though. There was still availability to add extras through the day when we were there (tho end of August is a quieter time).

We also saw a rocket launch which was amazing - our hotel room had a launch pad view & we saw it early in the morning.
