Montserrat

Has anyone been to Montserrat in Spain? is it worth the trip? We'd be going from Barcelona

I went about 6 yrs ago and remember it being fairly dull. The ride up to it is ok. If you have plenty of time in Barcelona and have a day to spare, it is a nice thing to do but not worth sacrificing something else for, imho.

I loved it.

We caught the train from Barcelona main station which was really simple. Took about an hour on the train, then the cable car up.

We visited the church and queued to see the statue of the Virgin Mary or something???

Then we had a lovely walk up in the mountains. I thought it was worth it but I suppose it depends how many days you've got in Barcelona and what else you want to do.
