Dear wonderful network, I'm retiring very soon and rather than a farewell soiree I was thinking of inviting a small group of my girlfriends on a long weekend holiday abroad. Hit me with your recommendations and cool activities. No further than Europe. 🙏

I can confirm that San Sebastian is very lovely - especially if you like food and wine!

Which airport for Jerez please

Jerez has their own airport. Otherwise you can fly into Seville or I think Cadiz might have an airport too.

Thanks

Its sounds fabulous. Watching with interest have a big birthday coming up but probably a less generous budget and restricted with dates and availability of flights from northern airports.

If you want somewhere a bit quirky, how about Nantes? They do this amazing art trail in the summer, but much of the art remains in place year-round. There's some lovely traditional streets but there's also the funky Isle de Nantes with the most fabulous mechanical elephant https://www.brittanytourism.com/offers/les-machines-de-lile-nantes-en-2108156/

Ibiza. Santa Elulia or Es Canar.

We're northern based! Loads of places out of Leeds/Manchester. Or are you further north still? #truenorth?! 🤣

Another vote for Porto or Budapest. I was amazed how cheap Porto was.

#truenorth Edinburgh, Glasgow or Newcastle easier.

I'm in Lisbon April with family and may head up Porto. The vibe looks fab.

Ibiza I've done and wouldn't go back but your other recommendations look fab. Added to my research list 👌
