Holiday DP wants or holiday to save money?

There are two holiday destinations that DP and I love. DP slightly prefers B and would prefer to go there.

Destination A: Hotel & Flights = £1,200 for 7 nights
Destination B: Hotel & Flights = £2,300 for 7 nights

Destination A is more expensive by about 30% when there but the quality of things is a lot better, as B is more 'rustic'.

From a purely financial perspective, how much of the £1100 saving are you wiping out by the 30% extra cost of being in destination A? I don't know if there is minimal to add to your quoted costs, or if you still need to buy 3 meals a day plus drinks and sightseeing admissions etc, if the later you may wipe out a lot of the initial saving.

From an emotional perspective, it sounds like you have a preference for A, in which case you need to state that, and negotiate with your partner accordingly. Maybe he doesn't realise you have a preference, maybe his slight preference is minimal. At the same time, if you actually like both destinations reasonably equally I would go with his choice.
