40th birthday USA

Turning 40 in April and looking to go to America for 5-6 days. Would ideally love to go to Montana and pair it with somewhere else but don't want to waste time in airports & wont be driving.

Looking for a direct flight and want to go somewhere new - over the years have been to New York, Chicago, Hawaii, Dallas, LA, San Diego, Washington, Vegas.

Had settled on Miami but direct flights stop in March from Dublin. So I'm thinking Boston? In two minds about the weather though? Or where to stay near water?

Massively overthinking this and my husband wants to strangle me!! It'll be just us two going btw. Help!

I’m looking at the east coast for my 40th as well! Have you looked at Bar Harbor or Portland? We might do a few days in Provincetown as well.

Those places all look amazing but in the timeframe, I'm u sure? You must be driving? What appeals to me about Boston is going to Salem and Martha's Vineyard for a day each but also want to explore Boston aswell! First world problems 😂

I’d be tempted to stay fairly east to maximise the time spent at your destination.

I think Boston is a solid choice. You need about 3 full days to explore then can head off to Cape Cod / Salem / Martha’s Vineyard.

Washington DC is excellent & could take the train to Annapolis and/or Baltimore for a few days.

Philadelphia is good for a few days & you could do a side trip to Amish country. It’s a fascinating place to visit, really beautiful.

Does Canada appeal? You could go to Toronto, Niagara Falls & Niagara by the Lake. The falls are spectacular!

Boston may still be cold in April. I loved it when we went last year, easy to walk, lots of things to do and see.

The southern states may be safer weather wise. Charleston?
