Airport transfers - do you take your own car seat ?

We are off to Majorca in September and will have a 16 month old and a 20 month old with us.

We might hire a car from the resort for a couple of days in the middle of the holiday (if we think we need to get out and about) and we also need a taxi transfer from and to the airport.

Would you trust the taxi's and/or car hire companies to provide the right car seats or do you take your own ?

TIA

I would probably take my own, but I really worry about car seats. I certainly wouldn't expect the taxi company to have the correct seats, although you could probably hire some from the car hire firm. Could you work out the expense of the transfer, and see if it would be cheaper just to hire a car for the whole holiday? I'm presuming that the children won't have their own seats on the plane? I once flew with DS1 at that age, and booked him his own seat (was pg at the time). I took his car seat on the plane with me to avoid the problem of potential damage in transit.

I also booked a seat and took his car seat - he felt calmer on the plane (and I got a break) as it was his seat - was it booked with a company ? If so get in touch with them to make sure there will be car seats ...

Thanks

I haven't booked the transfer yet but have looked at a few companies and there seems to be no mention of car seats. The hire car ones do though but its a lot more expensive to hire car(s) for the whole 2 weeks. We haven't booked seats on the plane

If anyone knows any companies that provide transfers and provide car seats, that would be great ...
