Taking Bugaboo Fox 3 with bassinet on BA flight?

Hi everyone

We are flying long haul to NZ with our 4 month old baby and looking at flying British Airways / Qantas codeshare. We looked at their Infant luggage allowance and it says we can bring a stroller / pram for free however we were wondering if this includes a full size pram with bassinet? We have the Bugaboo Fox 3 with the bassinet and the Bugaboo travel bag which fits the whole thing in. We don’t mind if we have to check it in at bag drop rather than gate check but the travel bag is quite huge (probably bigger than my checked luggage!) and don’t want them to refuse to check it in or make us pay extra given the size.

Any prior experience would be greatly appreciated!! We tried calling BA to ask but they weren’t very helpful - and neither were our travel agents…

Many thanks in advance!

I know it looks huge but the size isn’t that much bigger than a folded side by side double. I’ve not done it personally but a friend of mine took her Fox on multiple trips (all BA, she flies a lot with work and exclusively uses BA to gather/use points) with the bassinet. Another friend took her Fox to Mexico, again no issues. I think as long as it’s in the case and you can answer “yes” to the “is it all one piece?” question at check in you’re fine. Some people also pack out the case with bulky bits like nappies or towels which is sensible and saves on luggage space.

Thanks so much! This is very helpful and relieving!
