Winter break ideas

I'd like to go away for 3-5 nights after Christmas and before the kids go back to school.
I'm looking for a flight under 5 hours from a Midlands airport.
Kids are 9 and 13.
Would prefer warm but open to other ideas.
Don't want to spend a fortune either.
Can you help me with ideas please?

Morocco. I'd stay on the outskirts of Marrakech (Mandarin Oriental is nice).

Otherwise Essouaria but it won't be as warm as Marrakech

Sharm el Sheik is 5h 15m from Birmingham and the weather will be warmer than Morocco- had this exact conversation with Dsis a few days ago. She goes every winter for the vitamin D top up. Have a look on Holiday Pirates for deals.

If you can be away on the evening of 5th January, it's the night of the three kings in Spain/Canaries and main towns will have parades with camels and it's a spectacular sight.

Canaries should be warm at that time of year as could Andalucia and there's loads to see and do in cities like Malaga or Seville and the Christmas lights are spectacular. Also likely to be a lower cost option. Have a look at what's on offer with Jet2 or Ryanair from East Midlands or Birmingham.

Tenerife, we are going next weekend. In early Janaury, as a previous poster has mentioned its three kings day. Basically Spanish Christmas. So loads of celebrations, although, you will find most likely find the shops closed that day.

There's loads to do in Tenerife for kids of that age. Siam Waterpark, Zoos, Boat trips etc.
