want to take dh to hinds head (blumenthal's new pub venture) for bday

alternatively, any other suggestions for bday night within a spit of london? will be first ever night without ds (if my mum agrees fingers crossed)

I ALWAYS suggest this, but Danesfield House, between Marlow and Henley is fab. Lovely spa too. Not cheap, but worth it.

are there no b&b's that aren't chintzy?

Sophable, its difficult to think of decent B&B's in the area. Some nice hotels, but the B&Bs tend to be a bit grim. Someone may come along with some good ideas though.

I can think of 1 really nice place though, not a B&B, but an Inn. I've had lunch there and just looked at their website. The rooms look rather nice and the prices not too extortionate!

It's in Cookham Dean, which is 15/20 min ? drive from Bray (so a cab ride).

Here's the link:

Puff, I'm following you round the boards this eve, but I second your suggestion, very nice place, great food.
