Week abroad in June with 4 (nearly 5) year old and 80 year old Mum

Hi desperately need help finding a holiday that caters to us all in budget.

We've stayed at Creta Maris and The Mar-Bella in Corfu, struggling to find anything as nice in our budget this year.

£4k give or take and Mum needs her own bedroom, preferably on the beach and Mum would like a heated pool or jacuzzi at the hotel. (big asks I know for the budget) she has limited mobility but can get around with a stick. My husband also would prefer if the weather wasn't over 30 degrees C.

My 4 year old absolutley loves slides in a splash pool and something that had children's entertainment on an evening would be good.

I'm looking at Royal Son Bou in Menorca as a potential destination but doesn't tick the heated pool criteria but looks great otherwise. I've never been to Turkey, anyone got any recommendations there? I keep hearing mixed things but the hotel resorts look amazing from pics and we could just about afford some of the 5* places.

Personally I love a good horseshoe bay I can snorkel in and maybe an old town to explore for a day so that would be a plus for me but I will happily take a back seat as long as my DM and DC are catered for. We all just need a break and something nice to look forward too. xx

Thankyou lovely mumsnetters. xx

Turkey will be absolutely scorching in June 😳

Your best bet will be anywhere in Majorca / Menorca really. Everywhere else will be a lot more expensive or much hotter. We’ve just booked Tui Sensatori in Majorca for June for 3 people (me, dh and Ds aged 13) for £4k ish - never been before but reviews are good, heated pool, spa, easy walk to beach, (I’m 44 but have mobility issues) etc. There are loads of hotels in the Sa Coma area, worth a look.

Thanks @Pigeonqueen I'll check out TUI although the hotel you mentioned would be the best part of £6k with seperate rooms same as Creta Maris.

Maybe I could go in May if temp will be an issue in Turkey so would still like to hear peoples recommendations for hotels and best time to visit.

Just incase this is of use - many of the sensatori hotels don’t actually list their rooms as specifically having 2 bedrooms but often they have a “suite” which is actually 2/3 rooms. So it will have 2 small doubles pushed together in one main bedroom and then another room with up to 2 separate beds in. If your Mum is happy to have one of those with your 4 year old in the other or some sort of Tetris style family dynamics with the main beds you can make things much cheaper. We’ve done this with our 21 year old dd and our 13 year old ds before. The Fethiye sensatori (Turkey) has really large suites - their 2 bedroom ones are actually 3 rooms if I remember rightly, and their “double rooms” are actually 2 bedrooms- you have to really check the details. This is how our price for the Majorca sensatori is £4k for a junior suite.

I know Jet2 offer villas on their website as well, so sort of the advantages of a package holiday but the space of a villa if that’s of interest. Some of them share facilities with hotels nearby.
