Is New Years a bad time to travel?

Looking at getting a week of winter sun. Going somewhere like Mauritius or Caribbean Island.

We can either do a week before Christmas and miss the build up, or we can do a week after Christmas over New Years, flying out the day after boxing day.

What’s better?

I'd love to go away over new year.

The second option is my dream! Hopefully next year 😊

But that's because I love the build up, and find the time between Christmas - New Years a little dull and deflating. I guess it depends which week you wouldn't mind missing!

Having looked at both options several times I can tell you hotels cost loads more over NY than the week before Christmas. Peak pricing usually kicks in around 22/23 Dec and stays high till after NY.

I think I'll go back to Hawaii for my vacation
