Have a look here discount on the ferry too. Prices are held at the same as 2008 - we have had quite a few satisfied MN'ers here already this year if you want to check what it's really like!!

my friend has a lovely gite with huge field out the back for running around, its in normandy, 1.25hrs from Caen. Try here www.le-logis.com.

mankymummy · 29/04/2008 14:24

oh she'll negotiate for smaller parties and off peak too...

mad4mybaby · 29/04/2008 16:36

mankymummy, is there no play area or toys available at all?

we stayed here when DS was 3 and it was fabwww.lepavillondestagnan.com/Engels/index_e.html

We stayed here two weeks ago with DS (8 mo) and it was lovely. V reasonable, only 45 mins drive from Calais, pretty countryside, 30 mins drive from the seaside (Le Touquet), v friendly English owners. They are two-bed apartments with open-plan kitchen/diner/living room. There's a games room and a little play area with swings, slides etc.

I recommend www.bestfrenchgites.co.uk. They are in the west of France, in Charente Maritime.

Went last year and booked up again for next year.

It is a four gite complex with swimming pool, trampoline, sandpit, and 7 acres to run around!!

It is fab. If you want to check out the reviews on trip advisor type in Mirabelle Gites.

stayed in the 3 bedroom gite last aug. British family own the farm. Very child friendly. Pool is gated. Play area and each gite has toys stair gates cot high chair etc.
Not far from the Brittany coast. we drove from calais. It took most of a day to get there with several stops. the ferry ports are within 3/4 hours i think. the gite owners offer 20|% discount on brittany ferries

should have checked thread date! this one started in 2008

Hi there,

Thread is old but we also stayed in Le Pavillon de St. Agnan (www.lepavillondestagnan.com) in the Dordogne this year and it is still as lovely and childfriendly as "rookiemater" already said.
Fab complex for families with children until about 12 years old and the owners speak English.
