Seat extender for long haul flight

Flying long haul with 2 kids soon. Younger one is 3 and I am looking into buying a seat extender. I don’t want to spend £130 on the Stokke Jet, looking at cheaper options.
has anyone tried those extenders before and has a recommendation?

personally think they'd be more hassle than anything, kids easily curl their legs up.

Check if they are allowed on your airline, many don't allow them.

already checked, extenders are allowed, inflatable beds are not.

I need him to sleep for some of the flight and ideally on most of return flight (night flight). Why do you think they are a hassle?

We hired a flyaway kids bed (I think they're called) and it was a life saver! We had an overnight long haul flight - DD slept all night. It was easy and quick to put up and down.

Only issue is not all airlines accept and just make sure it's placed somewhere that won't affect other passengers getting out their seats 😊

We always took car seats on board, as they were used to travelling in them for long distance road trips, a few hours on a plane was easy. We were only allowed to have them next to the window though for safety reasons

Even for a 3 year old? I don’t think mine would sit in his car seat for 8-10 hours. Ours is quite bulky so don’t think that would work anyway. Thanks

Check with the airline, lots dont allow them and you need to move them in turbulence etc anyway.

Because, being 3, they climb on and off, stand up, slide off 'falling off' generallt use them as a play object.

just put up the arms and let him put his head on your lap. If he's tired he'll sleep.

personally find 'gadgets' more hassle than they're worth 🤷🏻‍♀️

I already said I checked and it’s allowed.

He is on a plane, he has to wear his seatbelt, I don’t see why he would climb on and off or stand up? He doesn’t do that on a normal plane seat.

I am flying long haul with two children, I am looking for a solution where everyone can get some sleep and I don’t have to deal with a cranky and overtired toddler when landing.

They're genius, I've used them for all flights we've taken the kids on. Great for meal times too as they catch any falling snacks!

We have some that are quite expensive, but both of those look like the same design so I'd say go for it
