Assisted travel at Bristol airport - what to expect?

I've just booked this as I'm currently on crutches.

They said go to the assisted travel desk but didn't provide much more info. So just wondering if anyone knows what happens.

I can walk fine with the crutches but booked because I think even with DH with me I might struggle to get up aircraft steps.

Just hope it's not going to feel like massive overkill!

They will transport from gate to plane using a hoist for wheelchair etc and avoid the use of any stairs - you may have to wait a little while after the other passengers get off at other side etc but we used it a few times with dad and they were excellent
